Learn from the experts.

Penn State Extension conducted the first Marcellus educational training workshops in 2001—long before the Marcellus shale potential was fully recognized. Since then, we've formed our Marcellus Education Team, a group of more than 40 county-based educators and faculty who are teaching about and researching the wide range of issues arising from Marcellus shale natural gas drilling.

We work with landowners, businesses, local governments and government associations, state agencies, environmental groups, workforce development groups, and others who need to understand the challenges and issues.

We are a trusted source of fact-based information that can help Pennsylvanians make informed decisions.
