Brenda Williams knows a lot about pairing up people who need jobs with employers who need workers.

Sometimes it isn’t easy, she admits. But when it happens, it sure is rewarding — both for her as the facilitator and the once-unemployed people who take pride in bringing home a steady paycheck.

“It’s really nice when you see the younger ones, when the light bulb goes on (and they realize), ‘It’s time for me to step up and do what I need to do,’” she says of the moment they decide to make the transition from welfare to work. (continued...)
